Who am I?

I’ve always been a problem solver at heart. I love the deep satisfaction I feel when a complex problem gives way to a delightfully clever solution, which is probably why I’m so drawn to things like logic puzzles, games, and murder mysteries. If you took a peek inside my brain it’d probably look like one of those detective evidence boards where there’s papers strewn everywhere and red yarn connecting seemingly unrelated things. That’s all to say that I like to think in relationships and structures, and I’ve learned to trust that process even when it looks messy from the outside.

As a designer I strive to solve real problems that help real people. I’ve come to understand that a large part of this effort is not only solving problems, but solving the right problem (after all what good is solving a locked-room mystery if you still can’t find the key to get out!). I combine research and iterative design practices to craft thoughtful user experiences and embrace constraints and ambiguity as my friends in the process.

Outside of being a design nerd (and a puzzle nerd I suppose) I enjoy bookstore hopping, drinking oolong tea and knitting really long scarves.
